Bro Andrew Richard Daily Devotion : God's Faithfulness in the Waiting

Regular Devotion

"But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles." - Isaiah 40:31

There is a season in every believer's life when the answer has not yet come, the door has not yet opened, and the promise has not yet been fulfilled. This season is called waiting, and for many of us, it is the hardest place to stand.

We live in a world that moves fast instant answers, instant results, instant everything. So when God's timing does not match our timeline, we grow restless. We begin to wonder if He has forgotten us, or if our prayers are truly being heard.

But waiting on God is never wasted time. It is not a delay; it is a preparation. Before Joseph wore the robe of authority in Egypt, he wore the chains of a prisoner. Before David wore the crown, he wore the humility of a shepherd's field. God was not withholding their promise - He was preparing them to carry it.

The Israelites waited forty years in the wilderness before entering the Promised Land. It was not because God's plan was slow, but because their hearts needed to be shaped before they could receive what He had for them. Waiting is where character is built, faith is tested, and trust is deepened.

When we wait on the Lord, we exchange our strength for His. Our human strength runs out quickly, but His strength renews us - it lifts us above our circumstances the way an eagle rises above a storm, using the very winds that would ground a smaller bird to soar higher instead.

Waiting is not passive. It is not sitting still with folded hands and a discouraged heart. Biblical waiting is active trust - continuing to pray, continuing to obey, continuing to worship, even when the answer has not yet appeared. It is declaring, "I do not see it yet, but I still believe."

If you are in a season of waiting today, take heart. God has not forgotten His promise over your life. What He has spoken, He is faithful to perform. The delay you are experiencing is not God's absence - it is God's preparation.

Let this be the season where your roots grow deeper before your branches grow higher. Trust His process. Trust His timing. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.

Prayer:

Precious Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being faithful even when we cannot see the way ahead. Forgive us for the moments we grow anxious and try to move ahead of Your timing. Teach us to wait on You with a trusting and expectant heart.

Lord, renew our strength as we wait. Help us to use this season to grow closer to You, to build our faith, and to become who You have called us to be. Remove every doubt that tells us You have forgotten, and remind us that Your promises are yes and amen.

Give us patience, give us peace, and give us the grace to trust Your perfect timing in every area of our lives.

In Jesus' precious name,

Amen.
